What We Like
Magnetic rower has the same force of resistance throughout the row stroke which is not the same as actual rowing, whereas Air resistance is more similar to real rowing. Air resistance builds momentum through the row stroke which is more accurate and gives a better full body workout.
Solid and Built to Last
The Concept2 rower is very well made and will last a lifetime. Concept2 rowers are commercial grade rowers and can be seen in many professional gym’s around the world. The rower is very study when set up and when being used, unlike others that may loosen off if folded away often.
Quick and Easy Assembly and Disassembly
The Concept2 rower will initially take around 15 minutes to unbox and put together, but once it is all set up it only takes around 10 seconds to split in to two pieces ready to be stored away. A photo of the rower in two pieces can be seen in the slide show of photos at the top of this page. It does need a little more room to be stored away than others, but if you have the room available this is the rower to go for.
Compatible With RowPro Software
RowPro software designed exclusively for Concept2 Indoor Rowers. It is a personal logbook that records your rowing, but also has a feature to allow you to compete against others around the world to motivate you whilst rowing. The software is set up on a computer, but some users then connect the laptop to a large TV allow you to view your progress as you row.
* Available RowPro software for the Concept2 ($100) is cool and highly motivational (http://www.digitalrowing.com).
What We Don’t Like
If anything, the seat can start to make your bottom a little numb, but this was after around an hour of rowing. Although there is an additional seat cover available if you are likely to use the machine for long durations.
The rower is bigger, heavier and pricer than other models, but if you have a good space to put the rower in it is worth paying the extra money.
The web portal is a little dated and in need of an upgrade, but everything is worth the money.
It is very difficult to actually find bad reviews online about this rower.
If you can afford this machine, this is the one to buy. If you want a higher seating position then the Model E may be a better fit for your needs.
